The tickets range from $25 to $145. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth $145 unless you have the money to spend. $25 ticket will get you an amazing unobstructed view in the balconies. The crowd was filled with your stereo typical types (you know the ones) but there was also a nice blend of everyone in between.
We went to see the Mozart Delights for Violin, Flute & Harp, which was truly a delight.
Peter Oundjian, conductor and host
Nora Shulman, flute
Heidi Van Hoesen Gorton, harp
Augustin Hadelich, violin
Mozart: Overture to The Impresario
Mozart: Concerto for Flute and Harp, K. 297c
Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 4, K. 218
Mozart: Rondo for Violin and Orchestra, K. 248b “Haffner”
My biggest disappointment was the sound. At no point did it get loud enough to even drown out the hungry stomach of the person next to us. When it comes to classical music, I don’t know about you but I don’t only want to hear it but FEEL it! Therefore, the concert was missing the duende, which I always crave for, especially at a classical concert.
I would still recommend it to my friends to see it at least once. The Mozart’s performances are on till January 17th, so go see it if Mozart is your thing.
