Café Polonez – authentic Polish restaurant review

Cafe Polonez

The other week I was watching an episode of You Gotta Eat Here on the food network, which featured Café Polonez. You’d think, that I should know this place, since it’s an authentic Polish restaurant but I didn’t….shame on me!

This place is always busy and most of their clientele are Polish. But let’s talk about their food, which is the most authentic food I’ve had – just like at my mom’s place.

If you decide to give it a try, you have to get one of their soups – it’s a must! Polish soups are the best soups you will ever have in your life (and trust me I’m not being biased here because I’m Polish). At Café Polonez, they are made daily from fresh ingredients.

One of my favourite soups is the beet root soup with mushroom dumplings but you can get meat dumplings as well. This soup is so amazingly delicious, that I can’t even describe it in words. You have to go and try it for yourself. A little tip – it is great for a hangover.

Now, let’s talk about their schnitzel dinners. If you crave one, they are hands down some of the best in the city. They come in different varieties with potatoes and salads and the portions are massive, so come hungry!

If you want to try the real-deal Polish food in Toronto, then Café Polonez is the place for you. Their menu is huge, so there will definitely be something for you. You can also grab the food to go, which is great!

Smacznego! (Bon Appétit!)
