If you like picking your own fruit, vegetables, or flowers check out the Andrews’ Scenic Acres located in Milton. The farm is not that far away from Toronto and it’s huge. It’s a great place for families, couples and friends. They have a petting zoo, a pond with fish, and a play area for kids.
You can pick anything from blueberries, strawberries, cherries, plums, corn, pumpkins, etc., you just have to follow their season calendar.
So we hopped on the tractor and drove off towards the blueberries fields.
We each had two baskets that would hold 3 pints of blueberries. It was fun for about the hour or so it took us to fill up our baskets.
We took the baskets over to the little shop where they weigh them in. On top of the blueberries we got some honey, yogurt, and a few other goodies. We also bought their strawberry wine, which tasted like a dessert. Also make sure to try their fresh fruit ice cream. So good!
As for all those blueberries? Well, most of them were eaten. But I did put what baking skills I have to the test and made a delcious batch of blueberry muffins.
